At the April 16th Board meeting, the Magnolia School District Board of Trustees recognized Dr. Albert Schweitzer Leadership Academy’s Employees and Volunteer of the Year.

Magnolia School District is proud to announce that two District employees have been selected as honorees for the 2026 Orange County Music and Arts Administrators Awards (OCMAA), recognizing their exceptional leadership and commitment to Arts education.
Presented annually by the Orange County Department of Education in partnership with the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, the OCMAA Awards honor educators, administrators, and advocates across Orange County who champion high-quality Arts education and expand access to creative learning opportunities for students.

Students enjoyed a special surprise during recess today when officers from the Anaheim Police Department stopped by the playground to spend time with them. The officers played with students, chatted with them, and handed out stickers, creating a fun and memorable experience for everyone involved.

At the March 12 Board meeting, Magnolia School District’s 2025–26 Spelling Bee winners were recognized and awarded certificates for their impressive achievement.

Magnolia School District proudly congratulates Dr. Frank Donavan on being named the recipient of the 2026 ACSA Region 17 Dr. Janice Billings Award. This award recognizes administrators that demonstrate exceptional leadership in the area of student advocacy, especially in advocating for students who face exceptional circumstances and obstacles.

Across the district, schools are creating meaningful experiences that strengthen learning and community. Students were welcomed by Anaheim Police during a special morning visit, one campus earned national recognition as a 2026 America’s Best Schools Award finalist, and families joined a hands-on math workshop to better support learning at home. Other highlights included a Father-Daughter Dance, student-led literacy fundraisers, Kindness Week activities, a “Lunch With a Loved One” event, a Kids Heart Challenge promoting wellness and service, and a solar cooker project that brought science and engineering to life.

Magnolia School District is proud to announce that Dr. Veronica Lizardi, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, has been selected as the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) – Region 17 Curriculum and Instruction Administrator of the Year.

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Jonas Salk School and Dr. Albert Schweitzer Leadership Academy have both been named to the 2026 AMERICA’S BEST SCHOOLS Honor Roll by the National Center for Urban School Transformation (NCUST). This national recognition honors schools that demonstrate strong evidence of academic success for all student groups and meet rigorous standards of educational excellence.

This statewide recognition celebrates districts and schools that demonstrate high academic achievement, continuous improvement, and success in closing achievement gaps.
